What you have here is, basically, "Basic Glee Part
II". When Richard did the original weekend-long drum blitz recording
session for the songs on his then-untitled new album project, he laid
down at least thirty songs' worth of drums. From those were culled the
fourteen tracks that make up "Basic Glee", but many songs were
started (and some completed) that didn't make the final cut for one reason
or another. "Rightovers" is starting life as the bonus disc
for the members of the Basic Glee Choir, but along the way it went from
being a number of outtakes to a full-fledged Richard X. Heyman album.
Same M.O. as with "Basic Glee" -- drum tracks engineered by
Tony Lewis at Eastside Sound and Hot Sound Studios, all vocals and instrumentation
done at Richard's home studio Tabby Road with Nancy engineering, then
mixed (and in this case mastered too) by Tony Lewis at Skyhigh Studio.
For those who have seen Richard perform live, several of the songs will
be recognizable from his stage show: "Too Little Too Late",
"Manhattan Night" and "In This World", to name a few.
Some are very old ("Where Are You Now", "Back To The Fairground");
others are very new "August", "As Long As The Wild",
"The Perfect Crime").
